About Amin

Punjabi was the first language I learned to speak from my parents and grandparents. I later learned how to read Punjabi from my Grandpa and am grateful that I was able to learn this skill from him. Some of my most cherished childhood memories are rooted in the moments I spent listening to stories, conversations, and traditions shared in Punjabi. I am excited to pass on the Punjabi language to future generations and to inspire them to learn more about our culture.

I completed my BBA from Simon Fraser University in 2020, before pursuing a BEd degree at the University of British Columbia. I am now a teacher in the Surrey School District, where I mainly work with early primary students. Teaching this age group brings me immense joy; their curiosity, creativity, and eagerness to learn remind me daily why I chose this profession.

Teaching is my passion, and I value being part of each student’s journey of growth. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and engaging learning environment where students feel seen, valued, and inspired to explore their potential. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with even more students through Punjabi Pathways and to help provide meaningful exposure to the language outside the traditional classroom.
