About Gurjit
I grew up speaking Punjabi but did not learn to read and write my mother tongue until I attended the University of British Columbia where I was thrilled to learn they offered Punjabi classes.
I received my Bachelors in Education from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2002. My Masters in Education is in Curriculum and Instruction. Specifically I focussed on how to motivate and engage students in speaking Punjabi language courses at the high school level. I have taught in the Surrey School District for 20 years at both the high school and elementary level.
I love developing creative content and interactive games for our students to become comfortable speaking Punjabi.
