About Kaljit
At a young age, my parents enrolled me in an after-school Punjabi program offered at my elementary school. I continued to learn Punjabi during my high school years. To further challenge myself, I enrolled in a couple of Punjabi classes during my undergrad where we read and analyzed Punjabi novels such as Sundari and Maluka. In my downtime, I enjoy watching Punjabi comedy movies and staying connected to the music.
I am grateful that I was able to learn to read, write, and speak Punjabi. Being able to converse with my grandparents, and hearing stories from their younger days ultimately makes it worthwhile.
I completed my undergrad at the University of British Columbia in 2021 with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Law & Society. I am now looking forward to completing my B.Ed this coming fall at UBC.
I hope to be able to inspire the same love I have for the Punjabi language and make learning as fun as possible while inspiring my students!
