About Priya
Sat Sri Akal, Namastay, Salaam everyone!
I currently work in the Surrey School District as an elementary school teacher. I received my B.A in psychology with a minor in counselling and later pursued my B.Ed with a minor in early childhood education at Simon Fraser University. I am passionate about working with youth and children, and creating interactive and engaging ways of learning.
I grew up speaking Punjabi in my household, with family, and with the community. I am fortunate to be bilingual as it has changed my life. Being able to communicate easily in Punjabi allows me to deepen my connection with others and immerse myself into the culture. For me, it is important that our language and culture is carried into future generations.
